So here’s another simple home remedy to try it out for those of you who are always asking about glowing, healthier and young looking skin…

Using ice cubes on your face has been used by many beauty experts in spas and skin care treatments for several years.

Benefits of using Skin icing;

  • Refresh the skin – when you have late nights and you wake up in the morning and see your face looking all dull and tired, ice cubes are the best treatment to hide away the tiredness from your face!!!
  • Fight the formation of wrinkles – Reduces the signs of wrinkles and slow the creation of new wrinkles.
  • Increase the blood flow which results with healthy and glowing skin
  • Smoother skin – makes it look fresh and healthy (Skin icing can tighten and shrink the enlarged pores by unclogging the pores that look larger because of the excess sebum.)
  • Great for puffy eyes – reduces the puffiness under your eyes
  • Pore Primer – use ice on your face before makeup. It will minimize your pores and foundation will look smooth and flawless.
  • Control Blemishes – Skin icing can soothe irritation, reduces swelling and redness. Great remedy for pimples.
  • When you see a new pimple apply the ice on the skin and it will slow the inflammation. Hold the ice cube on the acne for several seconds. This will help you reduce the size and number of blemishes. Repeat this process.

Steps to follow;

  • First and foremost cleanse your face thoroughly/ wash your face using your normal face wash.
  • Wrap one or two ice cubes in a soft cloth.
  • When it starts melting onto the cloth, apply the ice to the face.
  • Move the ice gently with circular movements. Go up along the chin and the jaw line, up the cheeks, and along the forehead and nose.
  • Finish the procedure with your normal skin routine (toner, moisturizer or any other extra treatments you wish to follow)

Few tips;

  • Always make sure to cover the ice cubes with a hand towel, soft cloth or thick tissue as you will not be able to hold the ice for long with bare hands.
  • You should avoid using the ice straight from the freezer onto your face as it can break the capillaries under the skin.
  • The icing should not be applied for more than 15-20 minutes.
  • If you prefer/wish you can add other items such as lemon, cucumber for better results.

So guys, we all dream of flawless skin right? But very often we get the odd skin pores on our cheeks and nose to hide away that flawless look!!! Large skin pores could be caused due to genetics, ageing (yes that’s right, we don’t want to accept it but what to do), the type of BEAUTY PRODUCTS we use can also cause pores and people with very oily skin are known to commonly have large pores. ***Excess oil and dirt can get collected in the pores and cause acne*** Here are two simple steps to do from home;

1.) Gentle exfoliation – exfoliate your skin regularly with a mild natural scrub. My personal NATURAL homemade scrub would be – Sea Salt, Honey and Lemon. Mix them all together in a small tub and scrub your face with it. Leave it on for 10-15 mins. If you really want, just add cucumbers on your eyes and have a lie down. If you have dry skin then just add a bit of Oil to the mixture and scrub your face. The mixed texture of salt helps to remove dirt on your dead skin cells and helps to improve the texture of the skin.

2.) Try steaming your face after this. If you have a steamer at home then use that for 10-15 mins. It helps to clear away dirt and works on pores. If you don’t have a steamer just boil some water and use it. You could do this after the 10 mins of your first step or just alone steam your face. Enjoying trying out this HOME remedy guys! J

How to look after Curly hair?

Many of you are always asking about how to look after Curly hair? Well if you have naturally curly/frizzy/wavy hair then here are some of my personal tips and advises;

Curly hair is one of the hardest hair types to maintain. Its drier, affected more by humidity, more prone to split ends, breakage and trying to brush it can leave to a huge frizz bizzar!
If you love curly hair, then yes it is possible to maintain it curly, frizz free and healthier looking!
Curly hair tends to be drier and more prone to damage than other hair types (to be honest there aren’t any special ingredients unique for curly hair, stop buying products which are labelled for curly hair). Use a shampoo and conditioner designed for dry or damaged hair.
Washing your hair;

For all hair types, shampooing too frequently is hard on hair, no matter which shampoo you use.
So wash your hair maybe twice a week!

1.) Brush your hair before taking a shower.
2.) Apply your shampoo, gently work on your scalp and give a quick massage. After your scalp is good and clean then gently shampoo the ends of your hair.
3.) Apply conditioner only to the length of your hair; apply it minimally and to the new growth near the scalp. That will keep the conditioner from “greasing” up the scalp and weighing down the hair closest to it, which will result in flat hair at the scalp and puffy hair everywhere else!
4.) Always try to keep conditioner on for as long as possible; the longer it is left on, the more moisturizing it will be.

***Styling Curly Hair***
Styling curly hair is tricky, as most people with curly hair will attest! It takes experimenting to find which combination of the following suggestions works best for you, but here’s what you can start trying out:
1. After getting out of the shower, gently towel dry your hair and blot (don’t rub) your hair with the towel. Rubbing wet hair with a towel causes damage that leads to frizzy hair.
2. Avoid brushing curly hair because it will cause hair to frizz and separate due to a breaking up of the curl. Instead, use a wide-tooth plastic comb to gently detangle the hair.
3. If your curly hair is thick and coarse, apply a silicone serum to the length of your hair before you start styling or add other styling products. Avoid the hair closest to the scalp. Moroccan Argan Oil or John Frieda Frizz Ease is one of the best Oil for Dry or Coarse Hair.
4. If your hair is naturally curly, fine and thin, then use a silicone spray and apply as little as possible to the length of your hair, again avoiding the scalp to hold the curls.
(John Frieda Frizz-Ease 100% Shine Glossing Mist or Smooth ‘N Shine Instant Repair Spray-On Hair Polisher.)
5. If your hair is very frizzy and you want more hold then consider using a Hair Mousse (L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Curl & Gloss Curl Mousse OR John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl) is something which works on my very frizzy hair.
6. Letting your hair dry naturally is definitely less damaging, but not always practical. Use your blow dryer on a low setting with a diffuser attachment. This reduces the impact of the air blowing over your hair, and helps your curls better maintain their shape. Be sure to scrunch (lightly squeeze) the curls, gently lifting your hair at the root as you go.
7. When applying styling products don’t use too much, and take the time to apply them evenly. Apply a little extra where you need it, but even then, be careful not to overdo.
8. Consider using a silicone-based hair serum to control frizzes and

How To Condition Your Lips and Apply Lipstick To Last All Day

The first thing you should do before applying lipstick is to get rid of that dead skin.
Use a sugar scrub to exfoliate your lips.
Or
Brush your lips with your toothbrush.
Rub in a circular motion to get rid of the dead skin. Of all the places on your body, your lips have the thinnest skin, so be gentle when you are exfoliating them.

Once you’ve exfoliated your lips, use your lip balm to hydrate your lips (one with vitamin E in it is preferable). Give your lips a good coating and then using your finger tip, massage into lips. Let it stay on your lips for about five minutes or so. Blot your lips before going to the next step.

Find a concealer that contains vitamin E. Any brand will do as long as it has vitamin E because it promotes healthy lips. Put a coat on your lips as you would apply lipstick. Blot your lips with a tissue.

Choose a lip liner pencil to coordinate with the lipstick colour you want to wear. Outline and fill in your lips. This will help your lipstick last all day. It also prevents your lipstick from feathering.

Now, using a cream based lipstick, use a brush to apply your lip colour. Always start at the centre of your lip and work out to the corners of your mouth, then to the edges of your lips. This way you will have less lipstick on your brush when you get to the edges – preventing it from going outside the lip line.
